2.2
A curious cat outside the institute. Calm as it looks, one false move and it was ready to dart away. I wonder what the most frightening thing about humans is to cats like this. Is it simply the massive relative size of humans? Does it see all humans as a threat? (and is that based on experience?) Is it just a built in survival instinct? Of course animals can be conditioned to overcome these natural fears, but I wonder if there are unconditioned animals that have, against all reason, overcome fear through nothing but their own curiosity. It's weird how ridiculous this sounds after I've written it. But somehow I seem to have unintentionally created a metaphor for myself here. The mind works in strange ways.
