More flowers! And the lethal bees that are constantly buzzing around them. Had a rockin' drum session todey.

Did a bit of exploring in the woods behind the house and discovered a muddy drainage tunnel.
ALSO: watched the Hunger Games movie with the korean kid I tutor. He was hilarious, though I had to excerise a form of patience that parents must need every day (he was terrified of the previews before the movie)

Date might be a day off, but I ran this route with a friend. It was too warm for the hoodie I wore, and a part of the trail was flooded from the rain, but other than that a nice long run.

Been rainin' a lot so I didn't leave the house today. Crysis 2 came in the mail. Found out that you can etch stuff from the dried soap in the shower.

(google image) Borrowed the book from a friend 'cause it would've taken a few months to wait for a copy from the library. It was much better than I had anticipated! Finished it in about 3 days during spring break.

A visitor. I've started drawing caricatures again, so I was looking for volunteers to pose for portraits.

This roommate has been camping here on the couch recently...he'll be leaving the state soon though :( The whole house smells differently when he's here (but not in a bad way, haha)

The REAL saint patrick's day has a popular 10k race, which (at least) 3 friends ran this year. Watching them made me want to run it too. I don't think I've ever actually run in a real road race before. My hair goes up.

The change of seasons brings a really nice smell/feel into the air which I think can only be noticed very briefly.

Self portrait for figure drawing. I wanted to try drawing as realistically as possible (see Chuck Close) but had some trouble with proportions. For this size a different medium probably would've been more efficient.

We keep upgrading our furniture...that L-shaped couch is the most comfortable thing I've ever sat in. Definitely worth driving across town to snatch. We then helped out a Mr. Honey with his intensive eagle project of rebuilding a bridge and creating a winding gravel path in some park.

I guess today was a leap day. Recently I've noticed that I run into more people I know on campus. Gotta love that random spontaneous interaction. Nothing quite like it. Drew some oddities with chalk in front of the engineering building, and went inside the dorm cafeteria for the first time evaaa

Critique day in figure drawing! Our class is so abnormally quiet, probably due in part to our teacher's superfluous criticism. Today she said she wouldn't say a word until someone spoke up, but she ended up doing most of the talking anyway...She makes me laugh (not at her, of course, but with her). That evening we learned about recycling on campus; probably the most personally relevant/interesting environmental issue, in my opinion.

Workin' on another 2 hour ink drawing (is it a drawing if it's wet media?) while my roommate studied/talked to himself. I had to work quick because he has an early bedtime, but it ended up turning out quite nicely.

A local rave - we threw away a couch to make room for it. Despite the amazingly small turnout, dancing to the music was like being injected with pure energy!

Words cannot describe how beautiful this sunset actually was. On the way home after doing some 会話 at the library with a new friend. And also running 8 miles on linear trail! I may become a marathon runner yet!

I keep forgetting to take picture and having to go back and reconstruct events. I honestly have no idea what I did on this day other than the usual routines, but lately I've been listening to Hybrid a lot...their music is so epic

google image. After FHE a few of us watched the Voyage of the Dawn Treader (we had seen the first two movies the previous saturday). This was the best scene out of the 3 movies, hands down.

Today was the best Valentine's Day I could have asked for (well, considering the fact that I'm single). I ended up ingesting such a ridiculous amount of sugar that I stayed up till past 3am, without hardly studying for the next day's art history test. Gummy bears, Just Dance (Apache), socks, cookies, awkward moments. Good times.

A gift from the heavens! Snow is such a great medium to work with. I took advantage of the newly fallen snow to create this fellow on my parent's doorstep between work and class.

We're supposed to do a 2 hour drawing of someone for figure, so I made the mistake of trying to draw one using this picture as a reference. It's just not the same as having a live model...

Ever felt like spontaneously jumping over a random object? If so, you must have been feeling a bit parkish. That was the word I defined in today's speech class...I had fun with that one.

I see know what the cold weather has forced me to become...
Tonight I went to a lecture about the judicial system by a judge for my speech class. I thought it would be pretty dull, until he called me and a few other students to the front to reenact a court case. haha. Needless to say that woke me up.

Although the snow melted the next morning, I at least got to see the town blanketed in white. I wish my camera could do super macro so I could see the detail of each snow flake.
In other news: bakin' bread and compost.

Also ate at my parents' house with a neighbor (Todd). Dad's cooking was not too shabby

Had a li'l birthday party for a roommate who hasn't been living at our house. Actually got through an entire game of RISK...I took over the western hemisphere in one turn, then got obliterated, making my last stand in South Africa.

卓球. I can't get over how cool this toy camera effect is! Later that night at work there was a laser tag event that a ton of freshmen went to...crazy how young they look now. That was a long night.

A curious cat outside the institute. Calm as it looks, one false move and it was ready to dart away. I wonder what the most frightening thing about humans is to cats like this. Is it simply the massive relative size of humans? Does it see all humans as a threat? (and is that based on experience?) Is it just a built in survival instinct? Of course animals can be conditioned to overcome these natural fears, but I wonder if there are unconditioned animals that have, against all reason, overcome fear through nothing but their own curiosity. It's weird how ridiculous this sounds after I've written it. But somehow I seem to have unintentionally created a metaphor for myself here. The mind works in strange ways.

I can't believe January's over already!
A squirrel. I made him drop that acorn right after this shot. Today I got a taste of the world of offensive/controversial comedy...something this squirrel can live without.
